Please explain the difference between lunging and
longeing.

The difference between lunging and longeing is the spelling. They have the same meaning in the horse world. Lunging in the dictionary is described as a movement. Like a boy lunging forward. Where the spelling longeing has been used through my professional years to describe longeing a horse. Longeing is exercising a horse on command with a long line. Which one is right? It seems to be divided between horse people and editors.
